I am Marcy, and along with my husband Doug, we are the creative force behind Marcy’s Photo Journey.
Doug has a background in software engineering and I am an educator, but we have come to love the possibility of capturing the beauty around us through photography.
“Marcy’s Photo Journey” emerged as the title for a Social Media Group where we shared our images with family and friends. The name was chosen to reflect our journey in the creative process, and also to reflect the many places we have visited and subjects we have chosen.
As time passed, we received very positive feedback for our work along with awards in photography competitions and juried selections of our images for public display. Friends and family requested wall art reproductions, and we decided to offer images through print-on-demand sites. Next we moved to producing our own matted prints which we offered at various local art fairs.
With heartening results from our sales, we formed a small business. We wanted our business to reflect our worldview, encompassed in the scripture passage of Lamentations 3:21-23, assuring us that the Lord is forever faithful and that His mercies are new every morning. Our passion is certainly one that strives to produce beautiful images, but we also love the opportunity to provide a means of encouragement to others.
